of Céline’s photo shoot for her new clothing label. I had to crop the bottom half out of course because it’s hush hush until her website gets launched in April. I grew up on cows milk. When my brother went to work with my father, occasionally he would fill-in for the shepherds too and milk the cows we had on the station—milk that went to all the families that worked on the station farm. And he knew exactly what the cows ate too: either green grass or hay. At all seasons the cows were pastured and were rotated from one paddock to another.

Just as I thought. I am intolerant to the lactose in milk. I’m not allergic thank goodness, but I am intolerant. Didn’t know there was a difference between intolerant and allergic too but there you go (or rather there I go). I went and bought various grain based milks which I don’t mind but try and make froth with the stuff and rien. Which means no more frothy hot chocolates for yours truly. Oh well, I’ll look on the bright side: I’m only intolerant.

As I was thinking about essays I became curious about what the word meant. Not its definition but where it comes from. I looked it up and just as I had thought, the word comes from the French word essayer which means “to try” or “to attempt”. Also essai which means “trial” or “test”. Maybe because I said that word a lot when I was in France but it makes sense to me about writing essays. Writing “to try” or writing “to attempt.”
