The ones that I nicked from the town gardens. The next time I post pics will be with my new lens. Yes, after twisting my husband’s arm (which is very difficult to do long distance) I went and bought a 50mm f/1.8. Not as expensive as the 1.2 USM but also not as good. Either way I love that I don’t have to work half as hard to capture the depth of field I so love. Here are the hygrangeas I captured using my old lens:

Curtain Call—Canon EOS 30D
Painted by my camera obscura using that defective lens I’ve been whining about. It was taken the same day I took yesterday’s entry. Below are some more painted skies I captured using that same lens. The problem I’ve been experiencing with my camera (or rather lens), other than the error99 code popping up, is that when I do finally get to snap something, the lighting in my images make some parts lighter than they really are and other parts darker. I also get a lot of flaring which, in the world of photography, is like committing a sin. Not that I care about committing photography sins but I do like my gear to work for me when I need it to. Anyway, here are some more painted skies:

I took this pic last night after turning my camera off and then on at least a million times before the darn thing kicked into gear for me. I’m so frustrated. I’m more than sure that it’s a lens problem because when I went to test other lenses out my camera worked perfectly. I’m very tempted to buy another lens because there are only two more weeks before we leave and I haven’t finished snapping. I have my eye on the 50mm f/1.2L USM. But mamma mia, it costs $1600.00! Olivier’s going to love me though because I’ve found a place online where you can rent them. Only $53.00 a week to try this mumma out. Ooh I can’t wait. It’s a wonderful service for those who want to test different lenses out before buying. Of course, I’ll probably never own a 1.2 but a girl can dream.
