Yes, after twisting my husband’s arm (which is very difficult to do long distance) I went and bought a 50mm f/1.8. Not as expensive as the 1.2 USM but also not as good. Either way I love that I don’t have to work half as hard to capture the depth of field I so love. Here are the hygrangeas I captured using my old lens:

julie, i miss not having to visit your blog. but then i can understand. i’ve had to limit what i say about our children. and husband says that i’m not allowed to whine in public—me whine??? ack. :)

although mine are nice …they dont compare to the color and clarity of this! But thank you so much for the compliment ;)
