Preparing for Rome—Canon EOS 30D
It has been a busy fortnight of travel planning and making arrangements for new rental accommodation. Train and plane tickets have been purchased and hotels arranged for our trip. We’ll meet up with Olivier in Paris to visit the children’s cousin there born last month! Olivier will take the children to an amusement park for a couple days while I head back to Biarritz to set the new house in order. After our travels we will be in a new home. I thought I would never like living in an apartment, which is what it is, but it seems France is a place where less living space really is best. While the home we are currently living in is bigger than our home in Texas, it also feels very grandiose. That’s because it is. And yet our home in Texas, while it is bigger than many homes in France, for some weird reason feels small nestled at the end of our Texan culdesac.
We have a Spanish exchange student with us this week too. Her valise is bigger than all four of ours put together. No child should ever have a suitcase bigger than the boot of one’s Peugeot! But I quickly forgave her because she gave me a box of chocolates and cookies. She communicated that in Spain they eat dinner at 10pm and party every school night. Boy is she in for a shock.

Thank you so much for your thoughts. There are many a Sunday when I wish to throw in the towel, but my 7 yr. old prtests loudly that she can’t miss her opportunity to pass off article of faith #_.
Enjoyign your blog… :)

When I finally realized that I needed to loosen up my entire lower face while speaking spanish, i made great progress with my accent. :-)
