still life with, challenge for january—white

North Shore—Canon EOS 30D

Still Life With is a website I visit often. It gives excellent ideas and advice on food photography (not that I’ve always put them into practice) with monthly challenges for those who like photographing food. This month’s challenge is white and there’s just a couple more days until the challenge ends. I always thought white was a beautiful colour, but I never knew just how much. More white here and here.

That pic is a perfect example of what it is like living here in The Netherlands….cold and wet and locked in a g
    small space (the glass).
Is it any wonder why the Dutch flock on mass to France every summer? What I don’t understand is their infactuation with camping. What is that…camping? Every camping sight in France is full of Dutch in the summer…Did you notice?

I have no idea!! The Dutch not only pay a lot for camping but they are not picky about campgrounds. Here the tents are usually only a few meters apart so you hear everything. They will go to great lengths and cost to camp someplace even when renting a house or hotel is cheaper.
They also love caravans. They buy more caravans per capita than any other European coutnry.
This summer when you see a car pulling a caravan…I bet it will have Dutch plates.

    The Dutch don’t like nature…they make it…;-)
